Smt. Meenakshi Sagar, disciple of ‘Natya Poorna' Guru Sri. J. Suryanarayana Moorthy, had her initial training in Chennai under 'Sudarkodi' Smt. Padma and later under Kum. R.Padma. A versatile Bharathanatyam artiste, she has given numerous performances in India and abroad. Her dance is marked by extreme grace and her expressions keep the audience spellbound. She has performed at various sabhas, art festivals, temples and government sponsored programmes.
Bharatha Kalai Selvi, Nithya Baratha Jothi,Smt. Meenakshi Sagar founded Aradhana in 1990 at the Russian Culturala Centre, Chennai to train Russian and Indian students. A teacher with outstanding ability, Meenakshi has choreographed various classical dances and dance dramas in a novel way. She is the Technical member of the Department of Education – Union Territory of Lakshadweep, for Classical Dance.
Meenakshi teaches dance at Podanur and Kalappatti to many enthusiastic disciples. She also imparts training in music and Nattuvangam. The first ever Nattuvanga Arangetram without a dance performer was staged by the students of Aradhana in 2010. Her other interests include costume designing and singing. Meenakshi is a qualified advocate too.

Smt Meenakshi Sagar:
Smt Meenakshi Sagar has imbibed various styles of bharathanatyam from different gurus. She learnt the Kalakshethra style from ‘Natya Poorna’ Guru Sri.J. Suryanarayana Moorthy, the Vazhuvurar Syle from ‘Sudarkodi’ Smt. Padma and the Dandayuthaani pillai style from Kum. R. Padma.
A versatile bharathanatyam artiste with over 25 years of experience, she has given numerous solo and group performances in India and abroad (Maldives, Singapore, France and Germany). Her dance is marked by extreme grace and her expressions keep he audience spell bound.
She has performed at Art festivals :
Chidambaram Natyanjali both solo and group performances, Perur Natyanjali, Minicoy Fest – Lakshadweep, Mamallapuram Dance Festival, Kutralam Saral Vizha, Ooty Summer Festival, Muthamizh Kalai Vizha, Nrithya Bharathanjali festival of Bharathi Nool Nilayam, Durgapur and the Pongal Dance Fesival of the State Bank of India, Arani.
