'Gita Press' - This name in itself is its complete introduction. This institution is the very image of the divine resolve which worked as the motivating force for its establishment. Gita Press was established in 1923 A.D. in order to serve humanity for truth, love and peace. It is a unit of the Gobind Bhawan Karyalaya, Kolkata, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, (presently governed by the West Bengal Societies Act, 1960). Since 1923 it has been propagating and promoting morality and spirituality through its literature throughout the world.

Gita press doing great service for humanity.
If you are in Coimbatore, you must visit this place. They have a treasure of books- Sundarakantam, Bhagavat Gita, Bhagavatham, stories for children and many more. The cost of the books are so very nominal. The books I purchased ranged from Rs 15 to Rs 100. You get books in Tamil, Sanskrit and Hindi. Please check if you need any other vernacular languages. Extremely good team who guided me patiently. Give your children a flavour of our culture by gifting them these books.
Gita Pressis a treasure trove for those interested in Hindu scriptures with commentaries in English and other regional languages. Their stock of books and pamphlets are very well priced and printed. The full Valmiki Ramaya for example, in two volumes just costs INR 770!
