About Delhi Public School Coimbatore

ABOUT US
Takshila Educational Society laid the foundation of veritable learning in Coimbatore by establishing Delhi Public School in the year 2012 in a collaborative effort with the Delhi Public Schools Society, which is one of the largest chains of CBSE schools in India. DPS Coimbatore is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and offers schooling from Nursery to Class XII. The last nine years have been a journey where perseverance and progress have been the cornerstones. Today it can proudly claim to be one of the most sought after schools in Southern India.

DPS Coimbatore aims to instil a progressive mind-set and has blossomed into a multidisciplinary institution, offering various facilities to impart myriad expertise. The school nurtures leaders of tomorrow, who will succeed in whatever they put their hands to, anywhere in the world, and yet retain a distinctive ethos and essence of India. The school aims to develop the cognitive, emotional, psychomotor and aesthetic faculties of the learner through a number of curricular and co-curricular activities in order to foster team spirit and environmental cognizance. It offers an amiable, stress-free and value based learning experience. It also lays equal emphasis on the proficiency of a learner in the acquisition of essential life skills attitudes, values, and achievement in outdoor co-curricular activities encompassing sports and games.

DPS INFRASTRUCTURE
DPS Coimbatore is spread over six acres in Village Onapalayam, Vadavalli - Thondanuthur Road, Coimbatore. A marvel of modern architecture, the campus contains well-lit airy classrooms, outdoor theatre, swimming pool, spacious courtyards for indoor games, and beautifully landscaped lawns. Apart from the basic necessities which are kept clean and hygienic at all times with the help of most modern equipment, there are state-of-the-art computer labs, a weather station, a resource centre, and a fully equipped gymnasium. The school campus is eco-friendly with waste recycling vermicomposting plant producing vermicompost from waste for internal consumption.

This makes learning a joyous journey filled with continuous thrill. Children create self-learning situations. It inspires them to learn from the physical environment in such a way that the emotional environment is in sync with it. Thus, kinaesthetic, cognitive and social domains of learning get intertwined leading to creation of a whole. Is education not all about holistic development? DPS Coimbatore continuously endeavours towards this goal.

Introducing little minds to the world of knowledge needs carefully crafted lessons in learning use of resources. But what can be expected for a child who is learning to read and write! A reading corner – an important and active component of learning centres in the classroom is an encouraging time for children to touch, view and attempt to read stories. Storytelling introduces them to the books they find in this corner and gradually they grow to develop vocabulary, comprehension and fluency. You can find them sharing their excitement about stories they read…and all the effort carefully put in to help them achieve this feels worthwhile for Classes I to III. As children grow so does their curiosity. It is therefore time to help them know how to fish information from the sea of knowledge that books store. Class libraries continue as an integral part of their class activity, only now they also learn how to manage and get disciplined about living respectably with books. The books they read in class IV and V are suitably selected for their age and include a wide variety of genres that contain today's favourites, informative nonfiction, and captivating titles for Independent Reading. In the mean time when our children visit the Resource Centre we try to develop the art of identifying resources, and the power to use them to satiate their curiosity. This is also the age when we introduce them to use resources to understand useful and exciting articles from magazines that create in them an appreciation of the real world and its beauty.

Our resource center provides a pleasant environment for learning. Its ever expanding resources help each user find relevant resource. Children are encouraged to use these resources as and when they need it and it is our endeavour to make information available to them when needed. The collection includes a variety of genres that cater to all ages and varied interests. Besides, it harbours an unusual collection of even basic knowledge banks like encyclopedia for all ages.

We, through our resource centre, also subscribe to exquisite magazines that our school grows on. The selection of magazines takes into account the best in the varied fields of interests and encourages all users to access them freely. Teachers and students each have food for thought here and positive growth therefore becomes inevitable.

Pros 1. Excellent curriculum from Nur-3rd 2. Good infrastructure 3. All items were provided by school shoppe every year start and no need to run outside 4. You can buy additional items from integra shoppe (5kms from school). Also door delivery available (takes 3-4 days) with addl courier charges 5. Frank communication via ERP and strict guidelines are followed as mentioned in school almanac/ diary 6. School uniform is khadi based and I like it very much. The stuff usually lasts long if separately washed at home. Cons 1. Fee structure - 22000 term fees inclusive of School transport (once in 2 month's) in the year 2022 for all classes 2. Transport - you will not get door pickup drop if you're not residing in school van route. It's literally impossible to get the new stop. I tried for 4 years 3. Shoppe is closed by 1pm daily (not opened on weekends). Sometimes stocks will take time to come. No proper response in mobile call. I usually call, get stock info and plan visit. 4. Tamil wont be prioritised and parent's should focus more on child education at home since the concept is entirely different at school and parent's has to continuously go through ERP communication

Very worst school and the management.. this school management control is not under here. We are not able to get the information immediately here.. they will get the answers from the Delhi govt after that only they will send to the parents. In pandemic period they are collecting the transport fees with out sending the busses.. no humanity and very rude when they talk to the parents..

madhanagopal shanmugam 13 Apr 2020

Its one of the best schools in coimbatore. Though the fees is high.. Accepted. Can be a bit less as they increase 10% every year.also they should stop asking donations more than a lakh for second sibling.. Curriculum is excellent and my daughter after 3 years in school had a excellent change and demonstrate confidence.. Education system and methods are good.. Really not sure why some parents are complaining about teaching..

1) Someone said in the reviews that atmosphere is good. But mind you, there is mobile tower right on top of the school building, which can harm students. 2) Response from the school to your emails are good. But I feel the school timings are NOT good. From Nursery to V - 10.10 AM to 3.10 PM which is OK but from V and above the school starts at 7.30 AM for this the students have to get up by at least 5.30 AM in the morning-travel and reach school which is kind of tiring for the kids. For V and above, they should have kept the timings for 8.30 or so, if not 8 AM. Thanks.

A CBSE school that follows the curriculum closely and puts the focus on the children. The entire staff - right from the security upto the principal is cordial and helpful.
