About Sree Annapoorna
In 2years the Brothers were offered another canteen at the Central Theatre. The brothers were already planning on expanding as their customers were overflowing, selling snacks during the interval was restricting the customers. They decided to open their first bakery, Royal Coffee Bar at RS Puram. Following the Bakery, the brothers found a rental space on DB Road and decided to set up their first restaurant.
The first branch of Sree Annapoorna, named after the Goddess of food Annapoorani, opened its doors to customers in 1968. This was at a time when the city’s restaurant industry was dominated by two giants —Kenneis Bhavan and Ideal Coffee house. The two groups enjoyed a reputation as the food factories of Coimbatore because of the massive volumes of food they would produce. “Though these two giants were located close by, we did not aim at competing with them We only wanted to satisfy the hunger of those who came in search of us.We never dreamt of acquiring their customers but wanted to create our own set of customers,†said Mr. Ramaswamy Naidu.

Customer Reviews
Experienced the same old awesomeness of annapoorna - curd vada. This is one chain that has kept it's name and it's taste for a decade+ Only downside to this location was the parking space - which was ironically available a couple blocks later. I wish they put a board directing us.
Good place to have breakfast, lunch and dinner in coimbatore.
Very good vegetarian restaurant
It was too crowded on weekends. We tried chilli parotta and ghee roast. Ghee roast was awesome. But chilli parotta was not upto the mark. Asked for lime mint at the end but they served lime soda. They have parking facility for both 2&4 wheelers.
Pride of Coimbatore is slipping. Last three visits I got cold dosa. Though the waiters were quick to resolve the issue, I'm disappointed as this group is my favorite and still the best authentic South Indian cuisine in India.
In here vegetarian dishes only and the food 🲠is too good... And most of the people like to drink a cup of coffee ☕.. Becoz the taste of coffee ☕ is.. Woww... No words.
Only good thing is it had Car Parking at such a busy Junction and they served Hot water to drink. Quality and taste of the food sucks. Had lunch here and able to see such a crowd for lunch. Hence if you would like to order anything (Tiffin items) other than meals for lunch then you gonna wait for a very long time. People would not even respond. Now speaking about the meals, Meals tasted bad with Salty sambar and poriyals. Chapathi was good but the curry that served with chapathi is not good. Chutney is salty too. Most of the dishes tasted extra salty and not pleasing.
Good place for vegetarian food. The taste was always good ðŸ‘
Trademark good veg hotel. You can trust and go and have any food. I have tried most of the food menu here. Car parking available. Good customer service. Neat and clean. One think they will not give Physical bill if you pay on Online.
By a far mile the best food you can get, friendly staff, clean and neat. Just enjoyed breakfast at 6:30 am . Must visit if you are in Coimbatore
